I feel the need to make a public service announcement. This is just my opinion but it is widely shared by both men and women. Take it for whatever its worth. Gentlemen, if youre taking a girl out on a date, and youre interested in one day dating her, pay for what she gets. Theres nothing more unattractive and un-masculine then a guy who is cheap about his money and wont pay on the first date. Its even more unattractive when a guy is cheap about his money and makes sure to tell you about it. Even if you dont have a lot of money (which I understand because we are college students), fake it until you make it. Every. Single. Man. has money when it comes to making a good impression. I understand that its 2014 and women are independent and fully capable of paying for themselves but thats not what this is about. Paying for the first few dates is essential to making a good impression and showing a woman that youre well-established, responsible, capable of providing, and that youre truly a man. Its honestly just the gentlemanly thing to do. And in reverse woman understand that more often then not men pay for dates. Were not going to order a filet or lobster the first time or maybe even ever. We are considerate and not all of us are high maintenance. We will offer to split the bill a the end of the date, which we are willing to do, but you probably shouldnt expect another date afterwards. Also, most of us are reasonable. After the early stages of the relationship and once youve both settled down and gotten comfortable with each other then its the girls turn to say Ive got it this time and do things for you. In conclusion, if on the first few dates youre not putting your best foot forward to make a good impression a women probably wont consider you for a prospective romance. Being cheap is the most unattractive quality a man can have and for most women, including myself, its a deal breaker. Just remember, you never get a second chance to make a first impression.
