I feel very fortunate to have met and been treated by these two - TopicsExpress

I feel very fortunate to have met and been treated by these two amazing men over the last few years. Willy and more recently Shannon have proven to me they are true masters of their art. Despite our limited ability to communicate (David, a translator accompanies them on visits to the city) both men are immediately in total understanding and care of my overall being. Have we missed something with our modern western medicine? For thousands of years Nungkaris, or traditional Aboriginal healers, played an important role maintaining the health of nomadic, Aboriginal communities who lived in harsh, desert environments where resilience was essential to survival. With the introduction of western medical practices across Australia, the role of the Nungkaris began to dwindle however there are pockets where ancient healing practices of the worlds oldest continuing culture are still in use by Nungkaris. The work of the Nungkari may involve healing to improve the health of individuals, cleansing buildings or special sites and looking after country. Nungkaris are also known for their powers to send healing over distance. I also am thankful that they have allowed me to photograph them on a recent visit to Adelaide.
