I fell in love with an angel. And I thought angels were the ones to fall. Look at how she swims through the air, no sorrow beneath those wings. She flitted above me teasing and giggling at my dismay. I chased her over rivers and more. I climbed to the bottom of the ocean and crawled over lightning bolts; I wrestled with the wind while walking barefoot across the sun. And after my shoulders let the world’s weight fall away she took pity on me and with caution lowered in. I didn’t have to see her. I could feel her beauty like the heat from a raging fire. And just as the heat got to where I couldn’t stand, I snatched her up in my arms, her wings tried to free her but I was just too strong. I calmed her down and promised that I would let her go, as long as she didn’t run. I can’t begin to describe the ache in my chest, I wanted to pull her back, dark green with selfishness. She drew a sword and held it at my neck. “All I wanted was your name, and maybe just one kiss before I go?” “Just a little taste of heaven, now don’t you think that’s fair?” my words slowed to a grin.
