I figured it out. Most of you were kids when Alex Haley’s ROOTS was broadcast on national television at least 30 years ago. It was the most shocking thing we had ever seen before, and as children we didn’t exactly know what to do about it. The images we had seen from the Civil Rights movement paled in comparison. I also know that like me, most of you grew up in the church. A few of you are ministers, (as am I) and to you I apologize a second time for poisoning you with my profanity, in case you missed the first one. I’m processing a lot of pain and rage not only of my own doing, but because of predestined things beyond my control. I’M NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. But neither am I ashamed of my African heritage!! UNLIKE SOME OF YOU. Some of you work with whites and don’t want to rock the boat or don’t have the courage to say how you feel, and some of you go through life DREAMING that the problems of society will just miraculously disappear - like God is supposed to do everything for you. Newsflash: HE ALREADY HAS. Anybody can give a testimony or forward a prayer or quote a Scripture, hell, the Devil can quote the whole Bible. You wanna impress me let me see you do some missionary work and put your life on the line. CHRISTIAN RESPONSIBILITY INVOLVES FIGHTING FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE. Maybe you just think Dr. King did all the work so now you can just sit on the sidelines warming the bench. IT’S NOT A GAME, but there are 3 types of people in the world: those who make things happen, those who watch things happen, and those who wonder what happened, and very few of you are in that first category from what I see. Christian responsibility also involves helping the poor and needy and those in prison. But for the last 15 years of my life I WAS THE POOR THE NEEDY AND IN PRISON and NOT ONE OF YOU so called Christians did a damn thing to help me – including family who I have not seen or heard from in 15 years unless on FB. The only exception is Pastor Maxwell whom I will never forget for helping me bail out the DC jail. I’m not a very forgiving person but I am LOYAL. I also learned a long time ago that people are not your enemy. I have no personal beef with anyone, but EVERYBODY is a nigga in my book, and if you wrong I’ll tell you to your face! I’m not perfect but I am FORGIVEN. But forgiveness is not an option for the spiritual forces of darkness that are currently at work in the Obama administration, and throughout the African diaspora causing suffering and death all over the world. Our oppressors may have happily moved on, but there will be no happy ending for them. We all have our place in the Body and our own cross to bear but only God can judge me.
