I find it a tad amusing that people are complaining about the Anambra elections being rigged... that in a country where just 36 governors undertook a public voting and the results were contested. This is for those who reduce the Nigerian conundrum to a North vs South debate. I see how right they are now - Northerner Jega is deliberately destabilising the southeast - how is that? Since 1999 the South has ruled for 12 of the 14 years, yet the Nigerian cancer has spread even wider. For the vast majority of the South - where Im from by the way - ANY southerner (and Christian) is better than ANY Northerner (especially a Muslim). They have their counterparts in equal percentages in the north who would rather vote for a Northern Muslim than ANY Southerner. Yet we live in a world where a second generation immigrant Kenyan is head of the most powerful country on the planet. Our myopic way of viewing leadership - even by the so called Nigeria elite and who influence a majority of the dim masses - is why we are rooted to the bottom of the world. It has even brought our nation to the brink of a monumental split and sadly supposedly educated and exposed people are still locked in this nonsense. 2015 is around the corner... you can still make a change by participating in the elections no matter how flawed you think they are. Vote for people who have a track record of making things happen. WE KNOW THEM. North or South, Christian or Muslim, it should not matter.
