I find it fascinating, if not somewhat encouraging, that 18 years ago the video for Califonia Love and its artists Tupac Shakur and Dr. Dre were being boycotted and protested by frightened people in the aristocracy, and today its been used twice in promos for the Belmont Stakes, a blatant symbol of the stuffy, white aristocracy. It serves as proof that we can all affect change in societys perception of what is art, and what deserves a place in the cultural lexicon. Also, almost 2 decades later, Tupacs verse is still FIYAAAAAAHHHHH!
