I for one refuse to watch the video of Ray Rice and the elevator incident. I was not there so I wont judge, I will simply say, I have been a victim of domestic violence, my first husband damn near shattered my nose with an upright vacuum and held a gun to my head several times. Each incident made me weaker to the point I had no self esteem. I refused to leave because I knew noone else would ever want me. I stayed with this man for quite some time, endured two reconstructive surgeries and the loss of many friends because I was broken. He now currently spends his days in a 6 by 12 where he will reside for the rest of his life. Whatever punishment or pain Ray Rice is subjected to it does not hold a candle to what shame and humiliation his wife experiences quite possibly daily. We need to reach out to victims not judge and condemn them they do enough of that themselves.
