I forgot how difficult it could be being a teenage girl. Todays - TopicsExpress

I forgot how difficult it could be being a teenage girl. Todays teenage girl competes with an airbrushed, photo shopped, barbie kind of world & as they stare into a mirror their own reflection seems so unpretty or worse if they conform, they become unrecognizable. I suppose nothing has changed really, as I once longed to be like the original Charlies Angels or as popular as the Pink Ladies (our Mean Girls at the time). I wanted so badly to be accepted, popular, & beautiful. Same game different players, now the Kardasians & the Bad Girls Club take the scene. Then there is the misconstrued affirmation of friendship, acceptance, &/or ones existence by the number of followers & likes. Where is the reality for a teenage girl to grasp onto in the 21st century? Its in the unpretty, in the face to face, in forgiveness, in failure, in triumph, in prayer!!! Anya, sweetheart, if it means they ridicule you because youre black, you are, take PRIDE in it & too bad some of us cant join the club!!! If they say youre big well, youre an almost 5 ft 7 in 13 yr old so, yes you are big!!!! However, so is your HEART so is your INTELLECT, so is your VOICE, & YOU wear it all so well!!!! If you fail miserably at something, well GREEEAATTT!!! Just dont be miserable along the sidelines of should of, could of, ... would of!!!! You worked it, you know now, move on. If nothing else Anya, be confident in being your own beautiful you!!!
