I found this interesting. I was involved with a rant that puppies cant be gifts and most end up in a shelter. I thought this might be a misconception, because there are many reasons that dogs end up in shelters other than that they are gifts such as people die,move, go to jail, or adopt a shelter dog that they cannot train. I have given a gift of a puppy and have received a gift as a puppy, and and so has my sister. None were ever given to shelters, because we loved our dogs until they passed the rainbow bridge. Oh course you cant just give puppies away without knowing if the family will love and take care of one. That too, would be irresponsible. But, a dog is a gift of love and that love can bring many years of happiness in the right situation. So, if you got a puppy for Christmas may you love it for as long as it lives, and if you got a miniature poodle you dont want, I want it!
