I found through the years of teaching literature that every story has a life lesson. This post really has a life lesson that so many many old and young people need to understand. I am very bothered by a recent incident that reminded me of this story. So tonight I have stayed up until I could find it and post it on Facebook. I have seen it posted before on Facebook, but apparently I did not save it. My BIG mistake! Throughout the last 13 years, I have often told many classes of students (for one reason or another) that they should each get up every morning and thank God that they were born perfect. Not everyone is that lucky. This is something that is a big, big, deal with me and can give me an instant heartache. Maybe that is why I find it so rewarding to work with special needs kids even though the days are long, difficult, and very stressful. It is also a way I can show my God how thankful I am for one of the greatest gifts of my life and to give back to others who need help and understanding as well.
