I fully support our educators and their action taken today to speak out for the future of our children. Teachers are superstars. They devote their lives to children who are not even their own. It is possibly the most noble profession yet the most regularly criticized. To those who are criticizing because many schools are not in session today, I ask you to consider this: Today is NOT a mini vacation for these teachers. These teachers do not have free days away from school. These teachers would ALL rather be with their students in the classroom learning than riding a bus across the state. The fact that they AGREED to lose a day in the classroom shows exactly how dire the situation is. If you DONT think education in our state is severely underfunded then you have frighteningly low expectations of what our children deserve. Our state system is broken and must be fixed. It CANNOT be tossed in the garbage. Education is MUCH too important to the future of our world. If you do not support fixing our states education system, then you must not want to live in a world full of educated people...and thats pretty scary.
