I gave a quote to photograph a wedding for $500. That man called back and said , ” are you sure you are good? Our cheapest quote so far was $3200. I showed a portfolio of some of my work and he said my pics were some of the best he has seen. He contacted me about a week later and said that if I would have quoted him about $2500 he would have chosen me. So of course I told him I would be happy to charge him that amount... He laughed and said he already cut another photographer a check for $3800....he said he loved my work but also believes that you get what you paid for. He said I should charge about $4000...gave me a lot to think about. How do I put the correct value on my work.
