I get lots and lots of requests for newborn sessions after baby is born and is already either several days and sometimes weeks old. The newborns you see in my photos on Facebook are done, ideally, before baby is 12 days old. Occasionally I will shoot a day or so beyond two weeks. If the look and style of my photography is what interests you, it is imperative that you book your session while you are pregnant. Can you shoot photos outside of that time frame? Absolutely! Other photographers shoot outside of that all of the time. Unfortunately, the type and style of newborn work that I do does not allow sessions shot beyond the two week time frame. I am currently booked through the end of June right now and July is almost full. I am rarely able to fulfill requests for photos after baby is born, and to ensure the quality of my work, I do not shoot sessions outside of two weeks of age (unless in the event of hospitalization). I hope this helps someone. If you have a friend expecting, please let them know the importance of booking their session during pregnancy.
