I get so overwhelmed when I sign onto Facebook and see all the terrible news headlines on the side of my feed. Children being murdered by their parents everyday and all we can do is pray for Jesus return. But when it comes to the humane and ethical treatment of animals being used for food, we actually DO have control over those things. I cant decide what you buy, but I do use my dollar to VOTE every time I go to the store. Ill admit Ive been a little too careless and looking the other way at where our free range eggs come from, but this weekend I saw that my butcher sells organic pastured eggs for $5/dozen, so well be buying there from now on. By choosing not to support big farms like these below, Im telling these companies that this is an UNACCEPTABLE way to treat animals. I wish I could ensure the ethical treatment of every person and animal on this planet but I cant - but that doesnt mean I can ignore the choices I do have a say in.
