I get that by April people can be less-than-thrilled by a snowfall. However, this is rarely the case for a snowfall in October or November; we are delighted by the seeming novelty of this annual occurrence. We are transposed to earlier times when we naively experienced the new sensations of the white fluffy substance under our boots, on our skin. I was brought back to that novel experience today, cautiously stepping on the snow-covered, inclining, sidewalk, uncertain of whether I would slip and fall on my ass. I didnt. I was delighted. I re-learned the snow was safe. And then I ski-walked the rest of the way home, hoping for maximal glide. :) And I will continue to ski-walk on the snow when it is given to the ground, even if it means I risk falling on my face in front of a window-covered nightclub in downtown Minneapolis (Michael Ehrenberg). ;)
