I get tired of those who tout John Wayne as some kind of military American hero. What about Jimmy Stewart who fought hard to get in the Army and succeeded at age 33 and would rise to the rank of Major General. Or Lee Marvin who participated in 20+ beach landings in the pacific until he was wounded in the ass severing his sciatic nerve. These are two of the many Hollywood actors who actually served. There are many more. Wayne was an awesome actor and great patriot. Not a military hero.
