I got a call from the Tacoma, Washington, Mission President (Weaver) yesterday. He broke the news that Alec would be staying in Tacoma for the entirety of his mission. There are just not enough safe Russian-Speaking slots available across the world to accommodate the current number of Russian-Trained missionaries. As many of you know Alecs call has been changed three times in the past 4 1/2 months. His Mission President told me that Alec was quiet as he heard the news. He also knew that he was disappointed to finally hear that his hope/dream of walking the lands of Russia and Ukraine would have to wait. We love this young man and have seen him take giant strides in maturity during this trial of his faith as this situation has unfolded. He sent two letters to his mother today and the timing of his words, love and encouragement could NOT have been more timely and life affirming for her. The Lords will be done especially for the Saints in Ukraine and Russia. Pray for peace there.
