I got a message from the daughter of Mr. Garr (The waving man) - TopicsExpress

I got a message from the daughter of Mr. Garr (The waving man) Kathy Garr Markloff wrote to me on Sept. 29th but I did not realize until tnight because it showed up in another file. I will post what she wrote here as well as the original post. I learned about your group on Facebook and my niece Sara did a great response but I wanted to expand. Thank you all very much for taking the time to express your thoughts and condolences. My daughter wrote something about my father and this is an excerpt from it. “My Pop Pop didn’t only leave an everlasting impact on his family and friends, but on his community. I cannot count how many people stopped by to see where the “old man” had been, he meant a lot to people. I think he reminded us all of what a simple smile, wave and a conversation is really worth.” My father was actually leaving his house to pick up corn and tomatoes when he took a fall that let to his health decline and his passing on August 24th. As much as he touched your lives, you all did the same for him. He thoroughly enjoyed sitting on his porch waving; selling his produce, flowers and pumpkins; and most of all - CHATTING. I thank you all for helping make his life complete. “The things that matter most in our lives are not fantastic or grand. They are the moments when we touch one another, when we are there in the most attentive or caring way.” P.S. Thanks Danielle!
