I got some extra exercise today. A jog. Yes...I jogged...toward a water turtle on Tamiami Trail just north of Bonita Beach Road. Poor dude was tucked in sitting on the dotted line (for my Duranies in the crowd, youre welcome) between the right lane and the turn lane. I was in the middle lane so I had to get over and pull into a gas station, park randomly, and then jog back toward said turtle. And you know what? Some fabulous lady at the U-Haul place ducked out into the street to scoop him into a bag before I got there. I waved and shouted, Thank you! and she shouted back that she just couldnt leave him out there on his own. Isnt that awesome!? As I was getting back in my car, I saw her releasing him into the pond alongside the gas station. Very cool. It restored my faith in humanity for the day.
