I got the question regarding oil pulling from a past client of mine today, so I thought I would share my experience again with everyone here. Ive been oil pulling for about a year now and I love it. I use primarily Sesame oil and sometimes cold pressed Coconut oil also. The reason I use sesame oil vs. coconut oil more is because sesame oil is in liquid form so its easier for me (coconut oil starts as a solid and as much as I love it, I have a hard time chewing on it before it turns liquid in my mouth) and second, I find that sesame oil seems to clean/whiten my teeth better and keep them white longer. That being said, I know people have their own opinions of either oils and theyre both good. Coconut oil will have more benefits I think as far as bacteria fighting. Ok so as Ive said, Ive been oil pulling for about a year now. I had a lot of recession on my gums and I can honestly say that the recession has subsided and gotten better. I no longer have sensitive teeth, my teeth are whiter (and Im a coffee/tea/red wine drinker) and my dental hygienist was extremely impressed how much healthier my teeth were the last time I had my teeth cleaned. I will say that one thing that is not emphasized is that if you have silver fillings in your mouth, oil pulling *may cause them to fall out because they are a toxin (mercury). I have lost two or three fillings that had to be replaced but they were 10+ years old so Im not sure if they fell out because of the oil pulling or because of them being so old. Either way, oil pulling is still worth the cost of a filling for me. I recommend it to everyone. My teeth have not felt or stayed this clean!
