I got these just today. By now other things have been said. But it is clear, and yet needs to be stated. That it is a movement initiated, planned, and led entirely by students. Huge masses in GBs. Teachers have expressed support but have not led, coordinated, or done any of the stuff it is rumoured. Jadavpur University Teachers’ Association ___________________ Resolutions adopted unanimously at the Emergency General Body meeting of Jadavpur University Teachers’ Association held on September 18th 2014 at 1:40 p.m. at ESc 3/1. 1. JUTA demands that Professor Abhijit Chakraborty relinquish office as Vice Chancellor of Jadavpur University. 2. JUTA demands that the original molestation complaint about the incident on August 28th 2014 be investigated speedily and in accordance to law. 3. JUTA demands impartial investigation into the events leading to police violence on the night of 16th September 2014 including the following matters: a. Molestation of agitating girl students by police and miscreants (from inside and outside the University). b. The brutal assault on agitating students by police and miscreants (from inside and outside the University). c. Why and under whose directions lights were switched off to hide the evidences of the brutal assault. 4. JUTA demands unconditional withdrawal of police cases against all agitating students. 5. JUTA demands a complete ban on police presence in the campus. 6. JUTA demands withdrawal of malicious statements by Professor Abhijit Chakraborty to the press about the teachers. 7. Resolved that JUTA members will wear black badges until the above demands are met. 8. Resolved that teachers completely boycott Professor Abhijit Chakraborty in all administrative matters.
