I gotta admit I am pretty overwhelmed by how many of you now joined me in my childhood-book-search. So to make it easier lets collect all the details here. Any comments which are not search-related will be deletedso we can keep an overview! - It was bigger than A4, probably A3 sized. - it was not super big. The pages were made of paper, the cover was solid cardboard/hardcover. - there were several animals. I am still not at all sure about the specific animals..I think there was a badger among them but I might mix stuff up with The animals of farthing wood which I loved to death as a kid..I recall it was drawn in a similar style. Western comic and a tad realistic. I also recall that the animals were wearing clothes. - The people in the childrenshome read it to us when I was between 5 - 13 (?!) maybe...I was born 1988. By the time they read the book to me it already looked old. However it is a childrenshome with many kids..so it might just have looked more usedup than your average book. Its hard to tell as its been 20 years ago ^^ - the childrenshome was in Basel-Stadt in Switzerland. It was written in german but that of course does not mean the author was german or that it was only published in said language. - I remember the book to be very picture heavy and not tooo much text. - the pictures were super detailed and there was always a lot going on. - I cant recall a moral or sentence or much of the story. But I do know all the animals were on a ship/boat, one was a captain, some were the crew, the pictures showed the ship and its rooms very detailed. - I cannot remember how the cover looked like. I do think the ship was on it but I am not 100% certain. - The story did revolve around all the characters of which there must have been a good handful because I can remember how we all sat in our pjs around the book, everyone picking an animal for themselves which made us all a part of the crew and we therefore all went on the adventure. Again thank you all fpr joining this search for the needle in a haystack. I know it is pretty much a mission impossible given how little I can remember :(
