I guess I need to just say hello, hi, or hey to most people. I usually say how ya doin, since that phrase/question broadly applies whether Im in Texas or Philly. This morning, while doing laundry at the West-T-Go (Ambest) truckstop in Tye, right next to Abilene, I greeted a lady (employee) with how ya doin....and SHE TOLD ME. Seems shes between a rock and a hard place at home, her man doesnt want to work, she doesnt make enough to pay the bills....didnt have enough money to buy school supplies and school clothes because he bought lottery tickets...and she thinks hes messing with her sister, who also lives with them but doesnt work...she wants to kick him out, but the apartment is in his name, and...(theres a LOT more)... I was just saying hello, so to speak. Ill make a guided effort to go back to hello, hey, or hi.
