I guess I’ve created a little stir with my offer of a free ad for the first two businesses each week who contact me via email. Once again, here are the rules: It will be a business card sized ad, so two columns wide by approximately two inches high. It must be in the form of a coupon for AT LEAST $3.00 off a product or service. Two different businesses’ ads will run each week and you’re eligible for one free ad every 30 days. If more than two businesses respond, the first two get published and the rest go on the waiting list. It’s a FREE ad. No strings attached, no contracts to sign, no obligation for future ads. We just want to help you add to your business and we think this will help. I received one email saying that it wasn’t “Free” because he had to take money off his product or service so it was going to cost him money. Yes, but it’s business you probably wouldn’t have had if you hadn’t run the ad. I received an email from a car salesman asking if he could run an ad with a coupon for $3.00 off the price of a new car. I wrote back and told him sure, but realize that he would look like a cheap ass for offering just $3.00 off, and it might do more damage than good, but he was welcome to run it if he wanted.
