I guess my basic premise is there is a lot of speculation and rumour about this grand jury so why are we focussed on the officer... if the grand jury was rigged is it not a more systemic problem in the justice system. Why is it riot worthy because a white officer killed a black man when according to reports there were 80 black on black killings in the same neighbourhood ( I am going by what was posted I do not have verification) but I saw the report of the chief when he said he had to leave because a five year old boy had just been killed in a drive by shooting. Is there not a larger problem to be dealt with....I do not know for sure if this was a racist shooting or a policy driven line of duty defensive act .... I do know that had this officer been convicted NOTHING WOULD CHANGE. We have become a society of capitalism run rampant and we are losing our humanity...these neighbourhoods need to be lifted up not segregated street gangs and drug dealing should not be the only career choice for disenfranchised black youth. This is NOT a localized problem it is a National issue that needs to be addressed by actually doing something about the poverty and working poor.... if our countries can spend billions on wars interfering with other countries and their politics and poverty levels why oh why can they not begin at home.
