I guess since I am finished kidding I can open the barn yard gate and leave the goats and their babies go out on the past year. Learned many many years ago that once they start kidding that barnyard gate gets closed and they dont go back out till all are finished. The barnyard is plenty big enough for my 15 goatsats. Probably 100 x 70 half of which is under roof with bedding the other half is concrete. The baby monitor gets hooked up so we can hear when new babies are born or the cry from mom before they are born. Babies are in the barn under a heat lamp before mom is finished cleaning them off and sometimes if there is a twin born that one is born in the barn. I am not walking I half-hour up the hill to the end of the pasture to try and bring in new babies and their mama, been there, done that.
