I guess there is no easy way to tell people this but this guy got some pretty devestating news last Thursday. I have been diagnosed with colon cancer and the doctor seems to think I have had it for at least two years. For my friends that know me really well they know I took all of the precautions to try to prevent this. I ate well, exercised, did not smoke, drink I lived a healthy lifestyle. But cancer got me and If there is a bit of good news it is that I had a cat scan on Friday and the cancer has not spread. My next step is a MRI in Barrie to determine the size of the tumour. If the cancer is larger, I will undergo three months of radiation and chemo to shrink the tumour before they can cut it out. If it is smaller they will operate ASAP. Either way I have a tough road ahead of me and I have great friends along with my daughter to support me. I have a special woman in my life, Sherry who I know will get me through this ordeal with laughs and support. I have lived 53 years on this planet and plan on being around along time..... after all fathers are supposed to give daughters away at there weddings. Stephanie dont be in any hurry LOL. If anything good can come out of this it is this GET YOURSELF TESTED and BE PROACTIVE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH. GET YOUR ASSES INTO THE DOCTORS...... LITERALLY. If you guys my friends do believe in a higher power and you remember just say a little prayer me. I am scared to death but I am confident this will just be a chapter in my life and I will move forward with a positive attitude and lots of laughs. Besides I am due for a good fight........Cancer bring it on.
