I had a Good Will Hunting moment at Starbucks yesterday. Im sitting next to a group of Sac State seniors discussing the heights of where their education would lead them. I interjected, unbidden of course, that true knowledge comes more from experience rather than just reading. To which one of the bookworm types responds with a sly tone do I detect a challenge to a battle of wits? The rest of the group of about 8 chuckles and give condescending sneers. Sure I say. So I am challenged by the bookworm to engage in a contest where we have to compose a poem right on the spot using the word TIMBUKTU. He goes first. Across the burning desert sand, trekked the lonely caravan. Men on camels two by two, destination TIMBUKTU His whole geek entourage erupts in applause and high 5s and then turn their sly gaze to me. Clearly I may have bitten off more than I can chew here, but nonetheless, I decide to give it a go. With a deep breath I begin. Tim and I a camping went, came across three hotties in a pop up tent. They were three and we were two, so I bucked one and TIMBUKTU! With a satisfied smile I turned away from the stunned and silent group and went back to work. ;-)
