I had a Mother in my office not too long ago whose daugther was - TopicsExpress

I had a Mother in my office not too long ago whose daugther was killed by a drunk, teen driver. Her daughter told me that she wanted her Mother to learn more about him and go visit him in prison. You can imagine her Mothers reaction to this request. She sat very quietly as tears streamed down her face. She looked at me and said, My daughter used to do prison ministry. She always had a soft spot for people in jail. She wondered what she could do to change things for them so that when their time was up they would think of their lives in a more positive light......Ill find him. Ill go to him if theyll allow me to. I just heard from her this morning that she was able to get in to see this young man. She told him that she forgives him for the accident and he cried for over an hour. He told her about his abusive upbringing in a poverty stricken family. He told her that he wished that he had died instead of her daughter. He told her at night, when he is most afraid, he feels a hand touch his face and sit on the edge of his cot. He thought he was losing his mind. My client told him, Thats my daughter. She is coming to you so you wont be frightened. You are in the prison where she used to minister. They both wept. My client told me that she has promised to visit him every month until he is released. That could be as many as 11 years. This, my friends, is the hand of God at work........Count your blessings.
