I had a couple of people ask about how the yarn bowls are made. I know it isnt fiber exactly, but It is yarn related. :) It starts as a tree that is already down. My dad never cuts down a tree for the wood. The bark gets removed, and a chunk is placed on a special stand that attaches it to the lathe. Then the bowl is roughed out. After that it can be made into a real yarn bowl. :) With the drying of the wood, and the wait time after things like roughing out the bowl, it can be a couple of years from start to finish. Ill be posting more pictures in the comments.
