I had a discussion with an individual the other day who once happened to work at a local WIC office and argued how the recommendations established there, such as the abundant need of milk for its calcium source, were to be unquestioned along with the old food pyramid. She went on to state that these were set by the government and were considered highly respected guidelines. I then asked her if she would trust the government with her check book? She paused and says what does that have to do with the subject matter? I replied, Yep just as I dont trust the government with my check book I certainly dont trust the government with my body.
