I had a great time at the SOCV meeting tonight, Haley Duke did a great job, I was very proud of her as she spoke on the Battle Of Gettysburg, on this the 150th anniversary of that battle. Also, my buddy, Will Walton gave me a great gift. Thanks Will for thinking of me the card was outstanding and very moving. The SOCV Camp in Colquitt has grown and we are packing out the room we have been meeting in. If you are proud of your Southern Heritage come share with us at our next meeting. To be a member of the SOCV you must be a male, who has always been a male, (you know how things are now days) and you must prove or establish ancestry to one who honorable served the Southern Cause. This is not hatred it is heritage. If you can not establish a direct line you can come as a "copperhead", and of course I welcome ladies there as well. It would be wonderful if the local ladies would form a UDC Camp in Miller County.
