I had a realization on the way home today. Our village is full of humps. And tonight I was really tempted to complain about them. But for some reason, I ended up realizing something instead which made me actually appreciate them. Humps are there to slow cars down. We often times want to drive as fast as we can because were always in a rush. But when we see a hump ahead, we know we have to slow down, otherwise we end up flying in our seats and damaging our cars. Worse, we end up hurting someone because we were going too fast. Thats how the humps of life work. They may be challenges, obstacles, difficult situations or circumstances of life that slow down our speed through life. Yes, like the humps on the road they may seem inconvenient, or even irritating at times, but theyre there for our own protection, and the protection of others. I believe God allows us to encounter the humps of life to regulate our speed. Theyre His ways of telling us we need to slow down, recheck if were going faster than we should, or maybe getting ahead of His time. At the end of it, trust that theyre for our protection. Like everything He allows in our life, theyre for our best. Amazing how God can turn possible little irritations of life to reflections of Him and His constant goodness in our lives. :) With the right perspective and attitude, we can cruise along the humps of life. Ride along with Jesus! :)
