I had a surgeon yesterday ask me if I was 28 weeks pregnant. I wanted to give him a big hug and say, thank you! (Im 32 weeks). But the reason Im most excited is because the comments and looks Ive gotten over the last six weeks is almost enough to push a pregnant girl over the edge. Wow you are really big! You look like youre about to hatch! What, you still have THAT long (eyebrows raised). And my favorite one today was, You are going to have one big baby! Why do people feel the need to say the most inappropriate things and feel that its ok because Im growing another human being. And btw, most of these inconsiderate people are women. Ladies, what is wrong with you? You wouldnt say to a non-pregnant person, Wow, you are so big! Pregnant or not, it doesnt feel good. And dont get me wrong, I know Im blessed, but its tiresome trying to explain that my due date is indeed September 23, and that according to my midwives (who know a lot more about birthing babies than the meanies who are voicing their unwanted opinions) say that Im right on track. Whew! Ive been holding that in. I feel better now 😊
