I had a very bad experience at the grocery store today. There was I lady ahead of me checking out in a self service lane. I know I shouldnt use them, but my mom was with and exhausted, and the lines at Woodmans are always ridiculous! This lady has a disability and was obviously struggling. I asked her if I could help. She said yes, but she would definitely not let me touch her money, so I showed her where to insert it. She was very pleased with her accomplishment, slowly took her change and went down to bag her 3 items. She was there a very long time. Then I thought oops, she needs help again and I am just standing here talking to Robert like a dummy. I go to help her again. She gets very angry with me, wont use the bag I opened for her, and yells at me. Yikes!!! I didnt mean to upset her, I was trying to help. She went and told on me. A clerk comes and asks me what happened. I explained, I just meant to help, be nice. She told me this lady is a regular customer very independent, and really likes to do things for herself. I felt bad, I didnt mean to insult or anger her.
