I had a very negative experience with Avas Flowers delivery service. I ordered an arrangement for my mothers birthday, February 13, and did so many days in advance. Avas failed to deliver on time, and effected delivery late the following day. The flowers were upside down in the box and delivered DOA. I tried to contact Avas customer service line without success that day; the company had insufficient customer service reps and the calls timed out. I finally got through two days later and was informed that the company policy is to effect re-delivery within 7 days. I replied that Avas failed to deliver a birthday gift, that the late delivery deposited dead flowers with my mother and a delivery of an intended birthday gift on any day other than the birthday was not acceptable. Avas rep was unyielding and stood on its policy. I suspended the charge on my American Express account, but when the company presented its seven day re-delivery policy to American Express, Amex reinstated the charges. I have paid the bill, but wanted to expose Avas shoddy business practices. I am reporting the company to the BBB. Avas is located in Mahwah NJ. Herbert L.
