I had a wonderful day today. Went to Hospital Alor Gajah for clinical teaching of the Medical Officers. Found that half of the medical officers there were my former housemen. They gave me a warm welcome and I am so proud to see that they have grown into capable and talented doctors. The medical specialist there was also my former houseman from the early years of my practice. She was so happy to see me and was recalling her memories on how she used to do on-calls with me and how I thought her so many things. I never thought that my junior doctors would remember me for all the small things that I have done or taught. This motivates me even more to seek knowledge, disseminate information and train my junior doctors to the best of my abilities. My old boss and teacher in HKL used to say, he wants us to become his robust and resilient universal soldiers. I always thought that it was an impossible task but he nurtured us till who we are today, young and vibrant emergency specialist. p/s: I had an additional positive factor that no one else had------>MACHO (feeling: berlagak) :P The actions of individuals can have far reaching effects just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is thrown into the water.
