I had ancestors whom once resided in Cahokia, Illinois and Ste Genevieve, Missouri. I and my cousin researched extensively my family and found that one of my ancestor operated a trading post on Island #57 in the Mississippi. When Rogers Rangers made a raid upon Cahokia my ancestor narrowly escaped Cahokia and fled to Fort Saint Louis then onto Ste Genevieve. Eventually they as well as my other ancestor whom was a scout in the service of King of France made there way to Louisiana. New Orleans has always been considered the Daughter of Paris.
