I had been riding in Yunnan for 10 days already. I had been ascending & descending countless of peaks.....crossing countless of tunnels (today itself about 30, I think), some poorly lighted but mostly dark, dark, dark scary tunnels which seemed never ending...I had rode on winding road since Day 1 (dah rasa nk muntah already)...had seen lots of interesting things, learnt new things everyday...and the best part, the view changed every single day. I had only one word to describe this part of the world...B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L... I started my ride today with thick fog which limited my vision to about 50m only. Imagine climbing & descending the narrow winding mountain rd in this condition. However the road from Lancang all the way to the China - Lao border was nicely paved & in good condition. The best so far for me. I was amazed at how the chinese build the high bridges, one after another, all the way from Menglun to the border. It seemed that I rode more on bridges than on earth. Really amazing. Today, for the first time, I had to ride on scary 1.5 foot width dirt trail for about 500m, which part of it was a cliff to underneath village, due to silap jalan termasuk ke hiway. Terbabas sikit je, I will end up down the cliff. This is an alternative road to get back to the correct secondary rd which I am supposed to take. I was too tense that I forgot to take any pic :)
