I had dinner tonight on Lido Deck and as I was in line an elderly female guest asked one of the Chefs for a “ hard boiled egg please.” Now that is an interesting thing to ask for at 8:30pm but this being Carnival and Hujani one of the Lido Chef’s exceed her expectations and said “yes mamm” and he hurried off to get her a hard boiled egg………..for dinner. He could have said “ we don’t have it” because they were not part of the Lido menu for dinner but he didn’t, he went off to the galley, boiled her not one, but two eggs and then brought them over to her table. She was so grateful and said thank you over and over again This is just one little thing, one small task that mostly goes unheard of but it really made me think of how right now, right this second as I sit here in my underpants writing to you that 90,000 people are cruising on our ships and how right now people like Chef Hujani is exceeding someone’s expectations. Carnival has been in the spotlight for many reasons over the last 40 years and through the very good times, the brilliant times and the challenging and downright awful times there has been one common denominator……………………people like Chef Hujani………….they are Carnival. Oh by the way…………..I hate hard boiled eggs. Even with a sprinkle of salt, they taste like farts in a shell. And on that note it’s time for me to put my pajamas on. Cheers - wywh
