I had heard about them, never knew for certain when they would show up. They are fierce indeed! Bigger they are then me, stronger, more powerful, smarter, unrelenting, destructive, chaotic, insatiable........defenseless I am... .It could go either way, and the acknowledgment that I am without remedy is a most unsettling condition, Yet, it is the most profound condition.....Here,.the concept of luck melts like wax, the idea of cause and effect, of entitlement, of deserving, is consumed in a fire, the past and all it contained is reduced to dust, scattered; the nest I have built, the friends I have had, the things I have done, not done are rendered impotent, powerless, the words I spoke, the things I thought, all of it, none of it is of any avail to me. The words from an old Garth Brooks song from a distant radio ring in my ear while the black soot and smoke and the blaring engine draw nearer..... Is the love I gave her in the past gonna be enough to last?, if tomorrow never comes............. 2014 years ago,on a cross,THAT work............a work established before anything was created.......It has to be enough! Let any other secret thing that we rely upon and draw peace from be dismantled, washed away. May we daily attribute all that is.... to HIM. May we see him, hear him, sense him, know him and find him in ALL things, at all times, piercing through our darkness, the darkness, forever making himself known, expressing himself to us, revealing himself..for in all things, he exists, the earth cries out! The whole kingdom of God daily makes known to us his majesty! .May we give him Glory, oh such a deserving Glory, thanking him continually for all his mighty mighty deeds!
