I had intended to post this build a couple months ago, but partly because I was so upset with a disaster that happened to it during the build and partly because I was moving on to other builds I never did post it anywhere. However, I did promise I would post it here and I keep my promises so although its rather late I present my build of the Delta Quadrant 1/1000 22nd Century Surak Class Vulcan Science Ship. Its a great model dont get me wrong. I love the aesthetic lines of her and she fits in nicely with my NX-01 refit and 22nd Century Romulan BOP with all being the same scale from the same series. It was just that I had it in my mind to bend canon a bit and paint it a different color. I guess the gods of Trek struck me down for it. The Surak Class was shown on Enterprise in one of two colors and youll see a picture here in this thread showing scenes from the show to support that. I also included someone elses (sorry didnt get the name) version who chose the other color than mine. The two colors are either a fire engine red or a autumn brown. I decided to spice things up a bit and split it down the middle with Testors Mythical Maroon. Unfortunately while final paint drying was happening overnight somehow the model fell to the garage floor and was covered with grit, dog hair, and gunk while the paint was still wet. My only answer was to go the Easy Off route and remove all the paint and start all over. Halfway through I ran out of Mythical Maroon and couldnt find any anywhere for love nor money. So back in the bag it went and this time I decided to obey the gods of Trek and paint it a good canon red. Evidently the gods were pleased and she came out fine. Perhaps better than if I had been successful the first time around.
