I had my first (and maybe last) epidural (at my neck) today. Immediately afterward I had no pain at all, although the 5-7 minute procedure hurt a lot. Its been about 3 hours, and there is some nerve pain in my left shoulder area and a muscle soreness coming up the back side of my neck and I have a whole frontal headache. These are all on the list of possible side effects; along with many more....so depending on how I feel tomorrow, I will decide if this is the last one I will be getting. Dr. Ho did say that I have a lot of arthritis (which the MRI had shown), which has considerably narrowed the space in which they insert the epidural, and that if this did not work for pain relief, he would have to refer me to a surgeon. My lower back is the next area we were planning to try...but we will see, because over-all...I know Im in Gods hands.
