I had no idea Lupe Ontiveros died two years ago. I just found out because I tried to find a scene of hers from the Todd Solandz film Storytelling where she plays her Hispanic maid role with a deadpan ferocity. I aso loved her in indie movie Chuck and Buck. But she is most famous for playing Selenas murderer in the biopic starring Jennifer Lopez. She talks about her mixed feelings about choosing to take the role of Selenas killer in this clip but she realized that it put her on the map. This woman was such a talented and brilliant actor. I will never forget her characters in Storytelling and Chuck and Buck. These were strange and low profile artsy movies but I loved her desire and ability to sink her teeth into the weirdness of these films and explore complex human behavior in her acting rather just playing it safe.
