I had originally watched the pilot of Gotham and was unimpressed. I intended to give it another shot but got sidetracked with other things and built up a backlog on the DVR. Im now watching episode 2. Its got some interesting elements, but damn, this production team has never heard of the world subtle. Everything has a operaesque quality to it, which is fine for grander moments, but its applied to every scene and conversation. To call the performances over the top is impossible because that would imply that some sort of top has been established.
