I had the honor of serving with Bill Stanley for eight years on the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners. Bill served 24 years as a commissioner, the longest serving county commissioner in the last century. He was a career educator, coach and worked with many troubled youth. While we didnt always agree on policy, Bill was incredibly kind to me and he truly cared about all the people of the county. He loves God, his family, his country, and the people of this community! Tonight I had the honor of seeing him perform the bluegrass song Mountain Dew. Bill is a legend in our community and he has positively impacted thousands of lives. God bless Bill and Jane Stanley! We love you so very much!
