I had the strangest dream I was lost in the worlds most beautiful - TopicsExpress

I had the strangest dream I was lost in the worlds most beautiful city. The fog misted the cobblestone streets, and the sky was a vivid end of day purple with rays of gold that broke through the arches and statues of magnificent cathedrals. The streets were filled with people from another time or even another world, with interesting faces and languages, and walking through the alleyways would lead you to plush gardens, or market places where children were organizing games. All I needed was a light coat and a hat, and a few dollars for the coffee shop made of glass that rested on the corner of two main streets hosting an elaborate display of colorful buildings as elegant as the cathedrals. I sat in the patio and watched ad children in groups were led by a school teacher down the sidewalks, poets played their verses on Spanish guitars, and the air was still, sprinkled with the soft sounds of the city, none of which was muffled by the noise of any of the passing cars. A waiter brought me a cup of warm soup, and I drew strange characters in a small sketch book, and the passing breeze brought the warmth of freshly baked bread from the bakery. The sun was setting, but never faded, and I glanced at a pocket watch I had that was not mine, and reminded myself that I was still lost in an unfamiliar place, but never had being so lost felt so much like being home. I woke from the dream, saw that I was late for work and hurried through my morning routine and rushed out the door. I drove quickly through the traffic congestion passed all the construction and crowded intersections... Yet all the while, today is made unusual as I am haunted peacefully by this dream. And if I close my eyes and picture it now, I can still smell the freshly baked bread, and hear the cathedral bell dripping through the alleyways...and I am lost again...
