I had to put down one of my cats this weekend. It was the merciful thing to do , but not easy. We called her Fluffy Kitty, but her name was Cocolina. Ken and I adopted her and her sister Peanut about 5 years ago when they were 15. Their original owner died and when we meet them they were living in the senior room at Paws. When we entered the senior room we had already decided to adopt 2 kitties (now known as Pepper and Sarah Pickles). We sat on the floor and Peanut started to flirt with Ken, but Fluffy was hiding in the corner. The women escorting us around told us their story (they saw us coming from miles away) and we were immediately drawn to these cats. 4 cats? That required a drink before we could decide, but since Ken did not drink we settled on ice cream to make our decision. Needless to say we left Paws with 4 kitties. Fluffy was shy, but in the middle of the night she would jump on the bed and groom my hair. Peanut died this time last year, right after Ken and Clancy. Now Fluffy is gone and while I still have 6 cats and am thinking about another Golden Retriever, Fluffy has left an empty space. We loved her.
