I hadnt been on campus for about 25 years. More than just the name changed (Truman will ALWAYS be NMSU to me!). A/H is now McClain Hall (no more circle drive) and Science Hall is now Mcgruder. There is a new dorm (West Campus Suites), a new Student Rec Center, and Ruth Towne visitors center. The parking lot behind Centennial is now a recreation field. The old school by Centennial is now a parking lot. The gum tree is gone as is the science tunnel (closed in, plus added a planetarium). Violett Hall is only recognizable from the outside - the green area in the center was enclosed and incorporated into the building along with extensive remodeling. No more circle hallway or rooms with sloped floors (but I was shocked to see a classroom with a teacher using a chalkboard!) The dorms are now all co-ed and have many PRIVATE rooms!! Plus the big lounges in the center of each room have been converted to dorm rooms. There are now small lounges in the corners of each floor (where the big 4-5 people rooms used to be) with an enclosed kitchenette. Plus there are laundry facilities on EACH floor - no more hauling everything to the 1st floor and waiting in line forever for an empty washer & dryer! You walk in the front of Ryle now and the cafeteria is open, with a few steps going down into it and steps on either side going up to the lounge. The old desk is now a storage closet (I wonder where they get their toilet paper and mail?!) and the old computer lab is now a conference room (have a couple of computers by each lounge. Pickler has likely doubled in size. Plus there are now nice apartment complexes all over close to campus.
