I hate hate hate to post this...but the DailyCloudt widget surfaced a bill (actually two) that pressures Brazil to extradite criminals who have committed crimes against the US to the United States to face trial. The bill has languished for six years and is suddenly moving as a rider to a bill funding the Department of Homeland Security. I was just with dons in the International Relations Dept here at Oxford...I hate to say what their first reaction was...given that the US does not have a problem with Brazilian criminals...you guys please fill in the blanks, it is too awful to speculate. Remember that there is NO cause-effect evidence, just the evidence of a bill -- that would let the US grab people in Brazil it accuses of crimes....very very very scary when you contextualize it in the war against journalists....
